Miscellaneous Information

Miscellaneous Information:

Wing: Nova Mentor 4, mainly yellow, white underside and red leading edge. I think.

Years flying: I started in 1997 but took a good few years before I passed my Pilot exam. I blame the weather. And kids.

Helmet: White with lime and blue flashes.

Locale - Edinburgh based but always prepared to travel, especially north. I’ve spent too much time doing more driving than flying but still happy to continue in that way. Ah, the joys of flying in Scotland.

Have flown in Himalaya, Morocco and the Alps but a good day in Scotland is as good as anywhere in the world.
One of my favourite sites is Hillend because it’s only 10 mins from the house and perfect for evening boating about. But when it’s good, Glencoe and Aonach Mor are pretty special.
A tendency to impatience and leaving thermals too soon, so lots still to learn. As for reading the weather, it’s a black art involving witchcraft and human sacrifice.
Every day is most definitely a school day with this sport that is most un-suited to the general run of Scottish weather.
