Paraglider over Tinto South

Tinto from 4127ft

Tinto yesterday [2020-06-24] was brilliant for me. (I wasn't brilliant but better than my average)

2.25hrs and maxed out at 4127ft so a happy bunny.

It wasn't a day for hill surfing when I took off and I wasn't anywhere near comfortable till I caught a thermal and gained a bit of height. Once high there were loads of thermals coming through and the sources and triggers were just as the text book.

It settled down a bit for surfing Big Tinto and the thermals kept coming through. Eventually I wandered out towards Dungavel. I tried for one of the few clouds around and found sink.
I headed back to the hill and found more sink

I surfed the east cheek of the gully between Greenhill and Big Tinto but couldn't get up so accepted the inevitable glided as far towards the car as I could.

I had missed the change in the wind (even though I had noticed it in the forecast?)and had a short walk back to the car.

A really good day and quite chuffed that I got my timing right (well near enough)

Fingers crossed for some more flying soon.
