Launch Notes:

Hang-gliders: From top of access chair, follow the worn track across the hill to Creach Dhubh for 2400ft launch on Nth, Nth.East or East faces. If there is wind, you can take off from the lower (N.E.) launch at 2050 ft, South East of the chairlift top, NN263517.

Paragliders: same as HG

XC Tips:

Good site for triangles, with typical XC routes via Buachaille Etive Mor or Glen Etive, but can be hit by sea breeze early in mid summer. Current XC site record is 109km to Mull of Kintyre, set in June 1998 by Phil Reoch (PG)

Top Landing Notes:

Although HG top landing is possible, it is not recommended since the ground is uneven and boggy in places. Paragliders can top land anywhere, but beware of soft / uneven ground.

Bottom Landing Notes:

Hang-gliders: Land beside Black Rock cottage situated on the access track. Beware of power wires, better to set up landing approach on the NE side of the wires. Windsock advisable in thermic conditions.

Paragliders: Can land anywhere, but overspill car park is ideal if not in use.

Hazards:

Power cables West and North of the car park, the chairlift cables, the small coniferous trees around the carpark and a few fences. Car park can be a thermal generator, affecting mainly PG landing approaches.
